Introduction to Languages familiar with Oracle
Oracle Database developers can choose from C, C++ Java, Java, COBOL and PL/SQL languages to develop their applications. You can use all the functionality of the database in any language. Oracle supports Developers’ language-specific standards. Developers have the option to choose which languages are best suited to their task or which ones they are most familiar with.
An example of this is Java being used on the server to create dynamic Web pages.PL/SQL is used to store procedures in the database. C++ is used to implement complex logic in the middle tier.
Oracle is easy to learn
You might believe Oracle is second to Redmond because of its SQL Server market presence and popular certification programs. Oracle is no fool.
Although Microsoft SQL Server is the most popular database among small businesses, Oracle databases are preferred by large corporations and government agencies. Don’t be intimidated by the number of Oracle customers.
Oracle is fundamentally the same as SQL Server and all other relational databases systems. It uses the same database architecture principles as SQL Server and can also be used with Oracle’s own PL/SQL extensions. It is relatively simple to learn, provided you are familiar with Linux and SQL.
